We know, we know: you’re too old to learn to paint, or you’ve been out of the game so long you’re convinced getting back into the swing of things will be night impossible. We’ve heard it all before. Well guess what? You’re not!
At My Art Shed, we know that it’s never too late to get into art or even to re-invent your creative talents. Lesson schedules are flexible, with classes in the mornings, evenings, and even on weekends to accommodate all students.
Our practicing artists and experienced educators will guide you through the techniques and principals of various fine art and craft mediums. Classes are limited to 12 students, which ensures you’ll be receiving plenty of individualized guidance from instructors.

- Projects are typically completed in 4-8 weeks and are unique to the individual, to allow for flexibility in scheduling and skill levels.
Probably the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of fine arts, painting is a wonderful gateway into the expansive world of art. And it’s easy to get into.
We offer lessons in acrylic, oils, encaustic wax, watercolor, gouache and mixed media. Our lessons focus on color mixing, brush technique, composition and theory, but we make sure to emphasize in self-expression.
If painting isn’t your calling, there is plenty of fun to be had drawing.
Our lessons emphasize on seeing, using right-brain techniques, line contours, shading and perspective. Lessons available in a wide array of drawing materials; learn to draw in charcoal, pencil (graphite and colored), pastels, oil pastels, pen and ink.
A whole new way to get messy! Encaustic wax is painting in layers using a mixture of resin and melted beeswax, and the perfect challenge for any artist. Discover true mixed media versatility with this age-old artform – work on canvass board, wood, or tile, and create unique works of art. Lessons focus on encaustic technique, preparation, layering, color mixing and imbedding.
